We had Jason and his amazing birds visit our school recently.

The visit was fantastic from start to finish.

Our year 6 children were engaged throughout and didn’t want Jason to leave.

You can tell Jason has great experience working with children as he was really captivating to listen to and had a great presence.

In contrast to other visitors, we have had in school that don’t hold the attention of the children we could have listened to Jason talk all day.

The children learnt so many great facts about the birds that we have used to inspire our writing in English.

Getting up close and personal with the birds was a wonderful experience and we have some amazing photos of the children as a keepsake.

The talk was incredibly informative and engaging.

The workshop we did was really interesting, and the resources Jason had were fantastic.

Even down to the quiz at the end- the children were really eager to win stars.

Can’t recommend Falconry UK enough.

We will be putting in our booking for next year.

Our n:vestigate group and the Anchor Boys from the Boys’ Brigade Company had a wonderful afternoon meeting your birds – as did the Leaders!

It was so lovely to be able to meet some more unusual birds too.

As they were all small birds they were just the right size for our 5-8 year olds which meant that even the shyest, least confident or anxious of our youngsters were happy to have a bird on their hand and join in.

Your talk was engaging and interactive, as well as being educational, and was perfect for the age group, keeping them all focused.

It was great to see how they responded to you.

Absolutely the best booking we have ever made for a family party!

Jason & Wendy were both lovely people and true professionals.

From start to finish Jason enthralled us all, both young, (aged 3) to old, (aged 79).

He taught us all so much about his amazing birds in such an interesting and exciting way and having the chance to wear the glove and experience holding some of these marvellous birds was unbelievable.

He was happy for us to take our own photo's throughout which we did, but I would also highly recomend booking his very talented photographer who has done an outstanding job, even capturing the youngest of the children perfectly with his beautiful birds!

What a session!

The children absolutely loved it and learnt so much.

You had them hooked at every bit of the workshop.

All the children were buzzing after and could share with their friends why the certain birds had 'ears' and spots on the back of their heads.

We were treated to and engaging and interactive talk about all the birds and Jason was able to allow many many people the chance to handle them and see them up close.

To see the looks on faces with Blu, Rocco, Tyson and the others was joyful and frankly has been the topic of conversation for many days since.

We were lucking enough to have Jason and his fantastic collection of birds visit our Year 5 class.

The workshop included meeting all the birds, finding out huge amounts about their behaviour, adaptations and individual personalities, as well as having the opportunity for the children (and staff) to hold all the birds using the gauntlet.

A few even had the experience of the birds flying to them!

Following this, Jason led an owl pellet investigation.

The whole class were able to get involved and loved the combination of fascinating bone finds and the delightfully disgusting act of pulling apart the pellets.

The half day workshop concluded with a very exciting team quiz which revisited all the learning from the morning.

Jason had a wonderful manner with the children.

His calm and engaging style meant that all the children were involved, even those who started off a little anxious about the birds.

In fact, one of the most concerned members of the class now wants to be a Falconer after their experience.

From a teacher's point of view, this was a workshop which was easy and enjoyable.

Jason smoothly managed the whole session, which a focus on the wellbeing of the birds, children and hygiene.

This made for a very relaxing experience for me...even whilst holding a vulture!

I chose this half day session to be the launch event or hook for the term of Science and Technology that lies ahead of us and it worked perfectly.

The children are all excited, engaged and prepped with a good level of knowledge to allow us to now build upon and extend their learning.

I would highly recommend a visit from Jason and I hope to welcome him and his feathered friends back soon!

What a fantastic morning the children had - they all came out of the hall wishing they had longer time with the birds.

Jason was great explaining about each bird with his funny stories.

This was a great tie in with the baby owl topics but I think the rest of the school will enjoy this treat.

This experience was a surprise for my sons 18th.

He has learning disabilities but Jason made sure my son was totally involved and he held all the birds.

I was a guest at Ben's 18th, what an amazing experience!

I've got to admit I've always been a bit wary of all types of birds, but Jason's approach was so good a actually held one!

We all learned a lot whilst having so much fun, Jason is very friendly and made sure everyone had a chance to get involved.

A few of the young adults there have learning disabilities and Jason as great with them, didn't pressure them to answer or hold the birds.

I took so many photos and have told lots of people about it.

We were delighted with our visit from Falconry UK in May 2022.

Our scouts found the visit extremely engaging and the communication and delivery of the session was very well tailored to the 10-14 year old audience.

Falconry UK provided a very diverse range of bird species.

A lot of our volunteers have been in scouting for many years and have attended many bird displays in that time - we all left very impressed with the range of birds shown (many of which we had not been privileged to see before).

The scouts enjoyed how hands on and practical the session was, and Jason was very knowledgeable about the birds on display and was able to answer every question posed in an engaging and educative manner.

For the price we paid, we were absolutely delighted with what was provided and would recommend this experience to other scout groups (it was just as much a treat for the leaders as the young people)!

Jason came to Avonwood Primary and delivered 3 workshops to Year 5.

He was very knowledgeable about the birds of prey and was able to share his passion with the children using lots of class recall of fascinating facts.

Children had a hands-on and personal experience with the birds; we were able to use all the information learnt in the visit in the children's reports on owls.

This was a great morning for all Year 5 children and related wonderfully to our key text.

All the children, who wanted to, were able to have a photograph with one of the birds and experience holding them.

We were also able to investigate the bird's pellets and how this showed us their diet.
